A Note From Me to you

Working in this field for 25 years and being an artist has led to me to rename my business multiple times.

In 2020 I rebranded to  "JEZ Wellness."

Shortly after my launch, I was diagnosed with a major illness.

Suddenly "wellness" felt wrong. Defined in the Oxford dictionary as "the state of being healthy," the term currently did not apply.

Not the first health challenge in my life, see below for more of that story, but perhaps the biggest one.

Now, not only was I sick, but my business was a hypocrisy.

In the long, dark nights alone after that moment, I finally rediscovered "my well."

I am inspired to share that discovery.

I want to empower you to a pliable mindset.

Wellness, it's not a place we arrive at, a noun, a static state, a destination.

It's an inner place, your resource , your healing, your power, your well.

See below where my journey to "the well" began.

A quarter of century ago was my summer of firsts: my first yoga class in Hong Kong; my first women's retreat in Bali; my first bodywork training in shiatsu.

I was walked path towards wellness out of curiosity.

That fall, I began in-depth study of meditation, yoga, Aikido and art as presence through process at Naropa University.

One fateful day on the Aikido mat, I received a blow to my head that changed my life. The path to wellness I had been exploring suddenly became mandatory with the diagnosis of an TBI,  Traumatic Brain Injury.he years following that moment have taught me that wellness is a balancing act, not a destination we "finally arrive at."

If we view health as a fluid experience,  we allow ourselves the room to heal, grow and transform.

We can accept the reality of what is.

If we look deeply enough, we may possibly embrace the beauty of it.

It's a choice to put our feet on the path to wellness.

For me, that choice was influenced by subsequent health challenges: major surgery, autoimmune issues, joint injuries, and PTSD, to name a few.  Each challenge taught me to  stay steady on the wellness path, seeking balance for my own strength and healing.

While often difficult, like an Alaskan backcountry hike without defined trails, the gifts of this path are many and eventually seem outweigh the obstacles.

Through my struggles, I discovered a deep well of resources  and tools. I would be  honored to share them with you. It takes courage to cultivate acceptance, strength, curiosity, patience, willingness and growth in the face of adversity.  A solid support team is really helpful.

As a coach, I will help you discover where you want to go,  develop the path to walk towards it and assist you in navigating obstacles you encounter on the way. My mission is to empower, educate and support, with empathy and clarity.

May I stay committed to my own wellness path and education so that I may continue to be a trusted resource.
